The DeKalb County Spatial Intelligence (DCSI) was established to advance the strategic use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and geospatial data across DeKalb County, Alabama. The work group serves as a collaborative forum for local governments, public safety agencies, utilities, educational institutions, and partner organizations to coordinate the collection, management, and sharing of authoritative spatial data.

DeKalb County comprises 17 incorporated municipalities, each maintaining data and information critical to effective planning, emergency response, infrastructure management, economic development, and public services. The DCSI exists to strengthen collaboration between these jurisdictions by promoting standardized, secure, and efficient sharing of geospatial information that benefits the entire county.

Through coordinated efforts, the work group seeks to reduce duplication of effort, improve data quality, encourage interoperability, and support informed decision-making at the local and regional levels.
