JOB SUMMARY:

The City of Birmingham is seeking to hire a Senior Systems Analyst – GIS to be responsible for designing and coordinating the development of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) databases used for the development and mapping of GIS data. Employees in this job class are also expected to oversee the management of GIS-related projects through the coordination and communication of project activities. Senior Systems Analysts – GIS are responsible for developing and conducting training related to GIS applications and data to internal and external customers and stakeholders. Individuals in this job class act as lead workers of peer or support staff within their department by assigning and reviewing work tasks, facilitating training, and providing feedback using policies, procedures, tools, and directives from management to ensure tasks are completed by established requirements.
