George Thompson, who works within ESRI's Professional Services division, will be presenting on Enterprise Geodatabases and Branch Versioning.
He will be discussing what the Enterprise Geodatabase is (not ArcSDE), some best practices, and maintenance processes. We will then cover what Branch Versioning is and how it can be used. Then follow up with a demo of Branch Versioning.
About George:
George is a Project Manager and Consultant within Esri’s Professional Services division. He has a technical consulting focus in the Enterprise Geodatabase and data management within the ArcGIS ecosystem. He has worked for Esri for the last 8+ years and started as a technical support analyst on the Geodata team and a Technical Account Manager with Premium Support. Since being with the Professional Services team, George has been a Strategic Advisor for Federal and Natural Resource clients over the past 4 years. He has also been involved in Esri Weather and Climate teams providing support to strategic clients in this space. Previous to Esri, George worked at a large AEC firm performing work for FEMA under the RiskMAP and MapMod programs. In a previous life, George was a professional automobile mechanic (Honda’s) and worked in the banking industry.
George is currently a GISP and holds multiple Esri Certifications included the Enterprise Geodatabase Professional since version 10.5 and a Subject Matter Expert. He has been involved in the certification creation process over the past few versions of the geodatabase certification. He has also presented on GIS technology at multiple conferences over the years from Esri User Conference, ASFPM, GAFM, AAFM and others.
