GISAA has partnered with the Alabama Damage Prevention Summit to develop a new conference track devoted to GIS in the utility industry. There will be an additional eight sessions this year devoted to GIS with speakers from a wide range of Industries.

Industry experts in Gas, Water/Sewer, Electric, and Fiber will discuss the different roles GIS plays in their daily Operations. NEI will present an in-depth comparision of mobile GIS workflows with several popular cloud based data collection solutions paired with a range of different GPS devices. There will also be introduction to GIS for managers and an overview of budget friendly GIS options for utilities to help bridge the gap between the GIS users and non-users attending the summit.

In addition to the wide range of individual sessions, GISAA will also be hosting an eight hour certified intro to QGIS workshop for those looking to expand their range of GIS tools and knowledge on September 25. This is a unique opportunity for utility GIS professionals to understand and share their contribution to public safety and the damage prevention process.
